Why are so many Christians pro-Israel?

I'm Jewish, and I'm so glad that Christians are pro-Israel. However, I am not a fool; I do see much anti-Semitism on the internet. However, a LARGE majority of the gentile supporters of Israel are Christian. Why is this? (Not that I'm complaining at all - keep it up guys!)
